클래식 음악공연이라는 장르의 무형성이라는 특징은 실제로 포스터 이미지의 표현 형태에도 영향을 미치는데, 오케스트라공연 포스터에서 가장 많이 표현되는 방법은 지휘자, 오케스트라 혹은 협연자의 사진을 크고 작은 이미지로 배열하는 방식이며 정형화되어 있다. 지금까지 국내 오케스트라 포스터에 대한 연구는 매우 제한적으로 이루어져 있어, 포스터에 대한 다양한 연구의 출발점으로서 세부적 내용과 서체 등에 이르는 복합적 관계 이전의, 배경과 형상의 게슈탈트 지각 관점에서 형상의 덩어리를 중심으로 한 레이아웃의 1차적 분석이 출발점일 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 공연자 사진이 게재된 국내 오케스트라 포스터 중 2016년부터 2019년까지 잡지인 《객석》, 《음악저널》 및 예술의전당 등 여러 공연장에 게재된 오케스트라 공연 포스터 80점 중 공연자 사진의 조형 및 제목 레이아웃을 유형화하는데 대표적이라 할 수 있는 포스터 유형을 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석은 유형별 분포 분석과 각 유형마다 4점의 대표적 포스터에 대한 개별분석과 유형별 주목성, 가독성, 명쾌성, 조형성, 창조성의 관점에서 분석하였다. 본 연구는 디자인 작업을 위한 디자인 방향성 탐구 연구에 초점을 두어, 분석 결과를 이용해 모듈 그리드를 활용한 오케스트라 포스터의 디자인 수행까지를 다루었다. 연구의 조사 분석을 통해 국내 오케스트라 포스터의 전형적인 유형은 네 가지의 종류로 파악되었다. 세부적으로 살펴보면 첫째, 오케스트라 전체 사진이 강조된 레이아웃, 둘째, 지휘자 사진이 강조된 레이아웃, 셋째, 가로 면분할 방식의 레이아웃, 넷째, 기하학적 구조분할 사진 프레임의 레이아웃으로 분류된다. 연구의 결과 국내 오케스트라 포스터 디자인의 형상적 덩어리 관점에서 전형적 레이아웃 방향이 진일보하기 위해서는 군상 보다는 공연자들의 구체적 개별인물 사진을 그룹핑해서 시각적으로 노출시키는 것이 필요하다고 판단된다. 이는 오케스트라 공연이라고 하는 특성에서 ‘협력체계에 의한 음악적 속성’의 표현이며 가독성 측면에서는 분산되는 점이 있지만 분산성을 강조하는 것이 음악적 특성을 보여준다는 점에서 오케스트라 포스터 레이아웃의 새로운 방향성을 제시할 수 있을 것이다. Abstract The intangibility of the genre of classical music performances affects the expression forms of poster images and the most frequently used expression method in orchestra performance posters is a standard method that arranges the photographs of the conductor, orchestra, and performers as large and small images. So far, there has been a limited amount of research on Korean orchestral posters. Before research is conducted on complex relationships such as details and typefaces, primary analysis of layouts focused on masses of figures from Gestalt perceptions of backgrounds and shapes should be a starting point for research on posters. This study was conducted on Korean orchestral posters with inserted performer photographs including 80 orchestra performance posters created from 2016 to 2019 for various venues such as the Seoul Arts Center and 《Auditorium》 and 《Eumakjournal》, which are magazines published and among these, it selected and analyzed poster types that can be considered representative in the typification of performer photograph compositions and title layouts. Analysis was conducted through distribution analysis by type, individual analysis on 4 representative posters of each type, and perspectives of attention, readability, clarity, formality, and creativity by each type. This study places focus on design direction exploration for design work and it used analysis results to implement orchestral poster designs that use module grids. Research analysis in this study divided the typical types of Korean orchestral posters into four types. Observations in detail show first, layouts that emphasize photographs of the entire orchestra, second, layouts that emphasize photographs of the conductor, third, layouts with transverse sections, and fourth, layouts with geometric structurally divided photo frames. Research results show that it is necessary to group and visually expose specific individual figures of performers rather than use group images for typical layout directions to advance forward from Korean orchestra poster designs with perspectives of formative masses. This is an expression of the "musical attributes made by a cooperative system" in terms of the characteristics of orchestra performances, and although there are aspects of decentralization in terms of readability, this could present new directions for orchestral poster layouts in that emphasis on a dispersive nature displays musical characteristics.
